2 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour
1 tsp Salt
1 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
3/4 cups Granulated Sugar
1 cup Light brown Sugar
2 large Eggs
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/4 cup softened Butter
( Heat in microwave for 10 sec)
3/4 cup Shortening
1 1/2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees, and spray a sheet pan or line with parchment paper.
- In a medium sized bowl combine the Flour, salt, and baking soda mix until combined.
- In a stand mixer cream butter, shortening, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. beat on medium high speed for 3 minutes, scrape down the sides and then add the egg’s one at a time, then add the vanilla extract. Scrape down the sides of the bowl, then slowly add in the flour mixture, once mixed together fold in the chocolate chips.
- Cover the cookie dough with plastic wrap and place in the freezer for half hour, remove from freezer and scoop with a 1 Tablespoon cookie scoop or a 1 tablespoon measure, place one the middle rack of the preheated oven and, bake for 14 minutes, remove from the oven and let rest on pan for 2 minutes and then move them to a wire rack to cool.
Note: The cookies will look underdone when removed from the oven so you must let them rest on the pan for the 2 minutes.
